Costumer Testimonials

Very first off, I'm a guitarist. I've been playing ten years - live, recording, teaching and teching.

I got this on whim. Its the sort of gadget you see that has a good premise but you dont anticipate it to pan out - such issues usually have some un-anticipated horrible flaw/s that relegate them to a drawer, back of the tool cupboard, shoebox or even the bin. But now and then I like to give new toys that have a different slant on old issues (or are totally new points) a shot.

This has performed far beyond my expectations. It seems silly to wax lyrical about a device that you have had for all of weekend and doesnt do anything seriously new, but it functions so well, you cant aid it.

- Its correct. This is a need to for a tuner, so lets get it out of the way. I trust this tuner.

- The vibration detection functions fantastically. I've clipped it to the most and least resonant of my lots of electrics and my sole acoustic and it picked up them up just fine.

- It can tune fretted notes fine as nicely, so you can intonate with it.

- I've tried it with a guitar that had a capo on, by attaching it TO THE CAPO not the guitar, and it nonetheless worked fine (though naturally the tuners didnt function so nicely with the capo on!)

- You dont want a cable for it. It doesnt even have a jack for one.

All in all its wonderful for just sticking on your headstock and forgetting its there until you feel youre out of tune or want to know that youre in tune. Its in particular fantastic for recording, and has taken up residence in my household studio, due to the fact you will need to be in tune for every single take, and this is the easiest way to check - no plugging in and unplugging every 2 minutes.

Strongly advised for ALL guitarists of all skill levels and walks of life. It'll make your other tuners obsolete.

EDIT - There is a flaw: its accuracy drifts (develops a systemetic error of about five cents) when the batteries are low.

Revised opinion - 4 stars. Thats a bit daft, and possibly its an unavoidable consequence of a piezo tuner or something, but it voids the most critical aspect of it following a even though.

I've made use of quite a few guitar/bass tuners, but this is my favourite - so speedy and straightforward to use. It really is also the cheapest I've ever bought.

An added bonus for me is that, when the tuner is set to Chromatic mode (rather than Guitar or Bass), it displays the note becoming played - if open or fretted. No more seeking up fretboard charts, or counting which fret I'm on and operating out the note. Pathetic I know, but I need to have all the help I can get.
